On Monday I started my 1 month job painting at the school. Well I was going to any way but I was only there for 1 hour, why you ask? Well, while we were washing the walls on the down stairs apartment, Lisa and I were talking about the apartment on the second floor, and what painting we were going to do up there. So we stopped what we were doing and went up stairs to check out what we had to do up there. It only took maybe 15 - 20 minutes. On the way down I missed the second to the last step and down I went, I stepped and my ankle just twisted, I knew right away that it was not going to be good, just by the way it bent over I was looking down and watching my step as I went down, and I still miss a step! I was so mad at myself. I have not had a lot of luck with my ankles. It was not the first time that I have hurt it. The first time was way back when I was in high school. Last year I think I sprained it at least 3 times and one time I got a stress fracture, and had to wear a cast for 3 or 4 weeks. Yeah that really sucked. and this year I have already sprained it twice, the first time just a month ago, (but it wasn't bad enough to go to the Dr.) so I must be working on a record or some thing, I sure hope not. Any way today I started to go with out my crutches. It doesn't feel too bad but it's still swollen and starting to get a lot more colorful. Any way when I talked to the PA that I saw at the clinic she said that when some one injures the ankle a lot after a while the ligament's get stretched out and doesn't hold the ankle as well as it should and doesn't bounce back the way a normal ankle would. Which is why I sprain it so often. She suggested that I go to PT. My first thought was that I would talk to Kevin and maybe get some suggestions but as Dwight reminded me it would be payed by Workman's comp. So after the swelling goes down a little more maybe I will look into seeing some one here in Devils Lake. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do but, I'm guessing it means some exercises to strengthen the muscles or something like that.
