Can't believe it.

So what sucks more than going to the dentist? How about coming home and 6 hours later having the tooth that they put in come out? Yeah after supper and chewing, (only on the good side). I went into the bathroom and was rinsing out my mouth with warm water and I feel some thing in my mouth and it was my tooth!!

Yup, that's right it just came out just from the water. With out me even taking a brush to it. I didn't use floss nothing. Just swishing the water around in my mouth to make sure there were no food particles between my teeth. What a shock! I'm really starting to hate this tooth! I guess I'll be going to the dentist in the morning instead of my first day of painting at the school. yay I can't wait. :( layout for myspace

Going to the Dentist just sucks!

Well as I posted last week, I had a root channel on the 24th, had my teeth cleaned on the 26th and I have not been able to eat without pain since the root cannel. Today I had yet another appointment to have them "fix" the tooth that they "fixed" on the 24th. Yeah it was so much fun. They said that my gums were swollen and inflamed and they decided that they should remove the temporary crown so they can make sure that they fixed it right the first time.
Uh gee do I get a vote??! Well, I know normally to remove a temporary tooth after waiting a good two or three weeks it doesn't hurt much, but when it's only been a week and it has hurt the entire time, and my gums are swollen and inflamed, it is not a good thing to start pulling on it. Nope I don't recommend it, not one bit. But they did it any way. After trying about 4 times with a couple different tools (I know she felt bad about it) It finally came out and she says does that feel better? Well ah... Let me think about that for a minute... NO! Not really! Then the Dentist comes in and starts hitting that metal post that he put in there and asks does that hurt. Well it did feel a little better until he did that but , yeah it hurt!! What is it with these people?? They work with this stuff everyday, don't they know that something like that is going to hurt??? I mean really think about it, haven't they ever had any of that stuff done to themselves? I think that they should have to go through some of this stuff so the know how the hell it feels. I realize that it needs to be done... But OUCH, yeah it hurts like hell so stop asking already! Then after the hygienist cleans out the inside of the temp. Then the dentist pushes the damn thing back into my mouth and on to my swollen and inflamed gums then tells me to bite down on this little piece of colored paper several times so he could tell where the temporary crown is hitting my top teeth and starts to drill/shave off some of the temp. Off. (Oh did I say that it hurts when I bite down?) so I don't have to bite on it when I chew. Well it's been 2 hours since I was in there and I guess it's feeling some what better but I don't think I'll be eating steak any time soon, and there is still a slight throb but I'm optimistic that it will feel better some time this week. Ok now I feel a little better after that little rant. Thanks for listening.

HOW TRUE!

My weekend.

This is me playing with the camera and a pair of glasses used to see the red line of a laser level, what do you think? Does it Look like I was on Mars or Pretty?

Dwight working hard as usual. We got the dock in, it really sucked with just the two of us doing it. Of course he did most of it by himself. Until he dropped the last one in the water cuz it was too heavy! But he can never wait for some more muscular help. He thinks us two old farts can still do it by ourselves!

Something strange is happening to one of the trees at the lake. I think it's called a beaver!
What do you think?

My niece Mariah graduated from HS this week end. Such a proud moment!

Yay School is out!!

Well I'm a little early it actually won't be done until Noon tomorrow, but tonight is my last night to work nights I will be done at 7:30am. At least until August sometime. I'm living dangerously tonight, it's 10:30 and I have decided not to take my usual 3 hour nap before work. I know that we won't have as many kids in the dorm tonight. Three of the youngest are going to be with their parents in another area. So I'm thinking that maybe I will be able to get a cat nap sometime at work tonight. Well there is two of us and I'm planning to go to graduation, awards and the annual picnic tomorrow so it will be a busy morning. Then at 1:30 I have an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. The root canal that I had yesterday went ok. I can't remember how many times he used the novacain (don't blame me for the spelling even my spell checker couldn't spell it) after the first couple it really doesn't mater that much cuz you can't feel the stinging sensation after that, but you do feel why he needs to add more. My appointment. Was for 9:30 yesterday I sat there until 10:20 or so and then I sat in the chair until 11:30. Yeah it seem like forever. Sometime in the middle of it a bee flew in from some where. Yeah... here I lay in that stupid chair and the Dentist and the assistant go looking for a fly swatter. No wait the Dentist grabs one of those big mirrors and tries to swat it in the air, while the assistant goes for the fly swatter. She comes back a few minutes later and they chase it into another room to kill it. I don't think there was anyone in the other room?? Didn't hear anyone screaming or anything like that. I hope I don't have to pay extra for the entertainment! Well I have to get ready for my last night so later.

I'm back Did anyone miss me?

There is a lot going on for my family. April and Kevin bought a house, I think they are nesting. Since they are expecting in December.(like you couldn't tell by my blog) It's all moving so fast. First they started to look found the perfect house the next day, put in a bid, got the bid out of I think it was 9 other offers! At first it was going to be June before they moved, oh how fast things change. They needed to get out of there rental home. The folks selling wanted to move out sooner soooo.... They finished up all the paper work on May 17th. (which just happened to be my birthday). This week-end Dwight and I will be going to GF to see the house and help them get moved in. Wow so fast my head is spinning.

Not to forget my daughter Alicia, she said just last week that she was going to start looking for an apartment with her boyfriend Ryan. They signed papers and started moving on Tuesday. It's crazy. I went and looked at it Wed. It's nice. It's clean, freshly painted, has new carpet, the fridge and stove appear to be fairly new. It's a 2 bedroom. Ryan's sister is going to take the other bedroom. Well they have been looking for furniture and dishes and just about every thing one needs to start up a new household. April she is going to call you and ask if there is any thing that you have that you don't want to move into your new house, let her know. I mentioned that black shelve unit that you said you didn't want and she said she would like that. If you haven't already gotten rid of it. She was also asking about that entertainment center shelve thingy down stairs. I told her I thought it would be ok for her to take that. Well that's it for now, I will have more information after the weekend.

I only have one week left of night work at the school. Then I will be starting to paint (days! Yay!)on the first of June. This year is going faster than last year if that's possible. It's late I should be getting to bed. We are invited to a wedding tonight, I don't know if we will be going. I truly don't have any thing to wear, I think I have out grown everything, sitting around all winter at work. Yep I found all the weight that I lost last summer (20lbs.). I hope I can loose all again that and some more since I will be painting 2 month instead of 1.

Friday, May 12

Well, who have we here??

Oh isn't she cute?? Can anyone tell me her name?? She is a one of a kind, home made, cabbage patch doll.
I think she needs some loving.

Hey April since you have been thinking of your younger years I was reading on Mr Toast blog and you were wondering where Georgie Ann was. Well here you go. I think she looks like she could use a bath. I'm not sure how to go about it with out her falling apart but if you have any ideas let me know. I'll see what I can do. Posted by Picasa

I also posted something and made a change in the template(with my video) and that's missing. I'm afraid that if I make a change now and publish my template every thing will be gone forever! I also noticed that Aprils Blog is missing quite a bit too. So does anyone know what's happing!!

Dwight and I went metal detecting.

We decided that it was a beautiful day to go to the lake. We didn't go to Woodlake, which is our lake of choice instead we went to Cavanaugh Lake, it's between here and Webster. It was interesting I learned how to distinguish between the good stuff and junk. This is a place that kids have been going to since at least the early 70's. So yeah, there were a lot of beer bottles, cans pop tops, broken glass etc. A spot for a fire. We were on a mission to find a couple of lost Black Hills gold rings that Alicia lost out there. For the record she and her friends were there for the swimming and sun. That's what I was told any way. We really should have asked more questions before we went out there. We didn't have the slightest idea where to look. No rings but we didn't come out empty handed no..... We found 88 cents. Yep we're rich now. Most of it was found around the same spot. Near a spot where there was a bon fire. Dwight tells me that's called a honey hole. I would have thought money hole would describe it just as well... But that's detecting lingo. It was all "clad" (modern money) Modern money is pretty much any thing after wheatie or merc's. Yeah I'm learning the lingo, kind of any way. I have a lot more to learn. Wheates are pennies that have wheat on the tail side. They were made in the 30's and 40's I think, well that the years that we have found so far. Merc's is short for a Mercury dime. They are made of all silver no copper. The oldest coin that Dwight has found so far is a 1901 quarter he found that at the school. That's all silver too. We both got a little sun burn I'm glad we went out early because as I look out the window now it looks like we are going to get some rain. Well that was my day, not as exciting as April's or Alicia's day yesterday but it was fun.

Wednesday, May 3

Well it's been an interesting night. Last night and tonight I'm working alone. So far it has worked out fine. Karen called in sick both nights. (actually her cat that she has had for more then 10 years is sick and this morning they have to decide whether of not to put him to sleep.) I felt so bad for her. I know how that feel and it's like loosing a family member. So I don't blame her for not coming to work, I sure I would do the same thing. I was hoping for a sub but there are none. Well none that could come in at night because the all have day jobs. So I asked are you actively looking for any. And she replied we haven't needed anyone this year. And I'm like... That's not what I asked. Are you looking for anyone encase this happens again? Well no it's too close to the end of the school year. Any way tonight was quite unusual at 1:00 am our new superintendent comes over to the dorm and tells me that there is a leak in a gas line. The fire department and police department have requested that we wake up all the kids and put them on a bus, that will take them to the police department where they will stay, until they can be sure that it's cleaned up and safe for us to return. So here I am all alone and I have to wake up every one. He asks, who can he call to come and help and I said. Stacy my boss (who doesn't think I need any help). So while he is making the call I start with the older boys and instruct them to get themselves dressed and then wake up the little boys and get them ready for the bus. Then I go over to the girls side and do the same with them. Well everyone was pretty much ready when Stacy and Tracy came and we were just about to load up the bus and the superintendent comes back with a fireman and say.... "It's ok every thing is cleaned and safe." So yeah we turn to the kids and tell them to all go back to bed. They are all asking what's up? What happened? Surprisingly everyone went back to bed and they were all sleeping again by 1:45. Dwight who was called in came over after it was all over and told me that some kids from town were trying to climb the roof of the power house and accidentally broke the pipe line. When they saw gas come squirting out they got scared and called the police. It's what got them caught. I personally don't think they should be too hard on the boys. After all they could have just ran and left the gas pouring out and things could have been a lot worse. So if you think about it even though they broke it, they at least they got help. After that, all was quiet until 4:00 when a little girl that has trouble sleeping wakes up and acts like it's play time. She was so hyper! I tried for an hour to get her to stay in bed hoping that she would go back to sleep. At 5:00 I decided that she was not going to cooperate so we go into the Lounge area and by 5:30 she was sleeping on the couch. YAY! When it was time to wake everyone up, no one wanted to get out of bed.
gee I wonder why?? It was an exciting night but I was so proud of the way the kids behaved and worked together to get every one ready. We were talking about it at 1:30 and Mr. Frogalson said it was 1:10 when he first came over and we had them all ready to go by 1:20. Well that's it the most exciting night I have ever had at the school as nightwatch. Oh and I hope it never happens again! By the way this was my first smoke free day. Not that I wouldn't have had one if anyone would have offered. But it's all good now.
