Our spring Vacation

About two years ago I bought myself a magnetic black beaded bracelet, then about a year later it broke. The magnetic clasp became untied. On our trip to Vegas I was hoping to find a little shop that could fix it, since there use to be little jewelry shops all over New Mexico and Nevada that would make and sell jewelry and sell on the road. Any way they don't do that any more, at lease no place that we saw. Then we were walking around at Planet Hollywood at the Miracle Mile shops and we found some one to fix it. Yeah, I was so happy. Then on the way home, some were in New Mexico, I looked down and saw that it wasn't there. We talked about it and thought maybe it fell off while I was digging in the back seat, sure enough there it was on the floor of the back seat. So I put it back on and off we went again. We stoped at a Mc Donald's in Nebraska and as we drove off I looked down again and it was gone. I guess I wasn't meant to have that bracelet. :( Then there is the story of the lost purse. What would be the odds in Las Vegas to set your purse down at a casino and walk away, only to realize maybe 10 minutes later that you don't have it, run back to where it should be only to find that it is gone!! Well I just started thinking that's the last time I was going to see that, then I started to think, what about my credit cards?? We made copies of them for that reason, but never thought we would need it. So I was thinking where did I put that stupid paper. We asked a security guard what we should do and he suggested that we check the security desk of the Casino. By the time we made it to the desk I was in tears. The guy behind the counter pulls out a clear plastic bag with my purse in it and I just stared and said Oh my god! It's my purse. They took out my ID to make sure it was mine and we had to sign for it, but every thing was in there I couldn't believe it. Wow what are the odds?? Well that's really the only luck that I had while we were there. I put maybe $25. in to the slot machines, won a little payed that, and eventually lost it. That's the extent of our gambling. We went to the "Price is Right" show that they have at Bally (another Casino) It was fun but I think it would have been much more exciting if we would have been called down. It was similar to the real show except they changed players after each game to give more people a chance to play. Then when it was time for the final game with the BIG prizes they put all the names in again and chose 2 people to play. It was one large group of prizes and both bid on the same group. Every one was yelling these big figures like $30,0000, to $50,000.00, there was a trip, two cars, a small camper and furniture, I mean it was a lot of expensive things, the two players bid something like $20,000 and the other one said 32,000 some thing, everyone was thinking that it was not enough in the end they said that it only $18.000. something. They must have gotten it all on clearance or something. Cuz I would have thought it was more than that. I guess one of them should have bid $1.00 or something. Oh well it was entertaining. That's all for today. Later more vacation stories.

Still trucking.

Tonight we find ourselves sitting in a Quality Inn in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Yes I spelled it right! But don't ask me to pronounce it. It's about 8:00 pm here we are sitting here trying to think of something to do. I found a tourist flyer that say, 'See the wolves," there is a wolf sanctuary near here. Oh Crap! I just looked on the map and realize that we passed it way back by Gallup! It's between Galopp and Grants. I was thinking we would be able to drive by there tomorrow on the way home, but I guess it will have to wait until we pass this way again. Well I wish I could say that we saw every thing and did every think that we wanted to do but the truth is it is impossible to do every thing there is to do, when you are passing through so many states. There are so many places that I wish we could have stooped at and do some metal detecting but there just isn't enough time and we don't know where to stop and ask for permission. Yesterday we went to Stanten it's an old mining ghost town. There are some claims there that belong to the GPA (Gold Prospectors of America), We became members when we went to the Gold show in Rapid City last spring.. We passed our metal detector's around but in the long run, it got too hot to keep it up too long. No we didn't see any snakes and we didn't wear the chaps that we bought, but maybe someday, who knows? We did pick up some sand that we thought might have some gold it, and we are going to pan it later.

When we were in Vegas we saw 4 shows that were all good. The last one had us laughing so hard. I don't even remember the last time I laughed that hard if or if I ever have. It was called "V" The Variety Show. I laughed so hard my stomach muscles hurt! well it's getting late and I'm tired so Later. Here are a couple more pictures...

More Vegas Magic.

Our Vacation to Las Vegas.

We stopped to go see this Meteor Creator. It's the largest, best preserved and maintained in the world. It was our first tourist type of thing that we did. Not sure if it was a sign of things to come but I stepped half way on the sidewalk and the other half of my foot on the dirt that was lower than the sidewalk. So of course I went down and twisted my ankle and scraped up my knee a little. However I'm fine I can still walk and I'm not going to die or anything like that. Any way for as often as I have done that I guess it's a relief to know that I got it over with at the beginning of the trip.

Yes that is snow on the mountains. We will get closer as you will see.

If some of these are blurry it's cause we didn't have time to stop for pictures. And I haven't been able to upload any videos. I didn't even think to get my camera out while we went through ND, SD, Nebraska or New Mexico. I guess there was nothing to take pictures of. At least nothing I could see. To be continued.......

Guily or innocent?????

If he is guilty I think they should hang him.

The skuttlebutt is that this is Ron's brother? Ron and Paula lived together for a few years. I don't know if he's related to Ron in any way, but anytime I saw Paula with Ron they looked happy. I have no idea why he would have done such a horrific act. Ron had moved to Grand Forks to continue his education at UND at the beginning to this last school year. I don't know what their relationship was at the time of her murder.

Eagleman charged with murder:
The man charged in the death of a teacher at the North Dakota School for the Deaf said "yes" when asked Monday by District Judge Donovan Foughty if he understood the charge against him. Billy Eagleman is charged with Class AA murder in the death of 43 year old Paula Hartze. Hartze was found stabbed to death in her Devils Lake home. Eagleman is being held on $500,000 cash bond. Prosecutor Lonnie Olson says he expects Eagleman's next court appearance will be in two weeks.

Let's see who does Aiden look like?

I was feeling a little creative today. I found this picture of April and put the two of them together then I looked up and saw this picture of Kevin. SO I put them together. I'm pretty sure that April and Kevin's pictures they are maybe 2 or 3 and Aiden is only one but, now I want to know......
Where does Aiden get his good looks? Well can I see a vote?

We are actually going to Vegas!!

Wow I'm shocked! We have talked about it many times, well pretty much every summer. Then we realize we would have to go in the summer and that totally sucks! We went with the girls in August one year and the record temps. were between 120 & 122 degrees it was pure torture. Moist heat verses dry heat at temperatures like that it don't mean a thing, it's just hot!!

Dwight and I have been checking out what types of shows will be playing while we are there. Guess what we found!!! No really guess, It's the person that I have wanted to see for at least 7- 9 years!!! John Edwards!!! http://www.johnedward.net/JOHN_EDWARD_2008/dvd_club.htm You can check out his web site. He will be there on the 15th at 11 am at the Flamingo. I told dad...we have to go see him!! Even if it means we leave early to make it on time and spend 1/2 of our budget on tickets to see him. We had planed to leave the 13 and make it there on the 16th. and now we are going to leave on the 12th and we had to make reservations to stay one night at a different place on the 15 because the Jockey Club didn't have any rooms open for that night. But if all goes well we will be seeing him. I'm soooo excited!!! I thought it would never happen but as he says on his show "If it is meant to be the spirits will find a way." I know that if I said I didn't want a reading I would be lying. But I hope just to see him will be enough to satisfy me. Because there will be a lot of people there and I'm not going to obsess about it.

One other thing that is happening at the Bellagio, They have a Price is Right show, from what I understand you can play and win the same types of prizes as they have on the one that is on TV.
We also plan on checking in on some ghost towns, look for some gold or coins. In other words we are taking our Metal detectors. I might throw some coins in a one armed bandit. But I think our best luck will be found in the dirt not a slot machine.
