I have been so bad about posting!

Well here I am. Finally getting something typed. The days go by so fast, I feel like I'm always busy and yet when I look around my house is a mess, I still have some yard work to do, the dishes are waiting for me and the check book needs some attention. But no here I sit typing on my blog! Dwight and I took the car to the dealers tonight they are going to check out some things and hopefully put in my car starter. We were putting oil paint on the Barn at work. We were waiting most of the day for it to start raining because that's what was predicted, We got a couple of sprinkles and we thought we would put the paint away. I still had a lot of paint in my pan and Sheri had tossed the can so I decided to try to get rid of the paint by rolling it all quickly. Then almost as fast as it started it stopped again. So we both filled our pans again and we were painting away and the wind came up. Wet oil paint on the walls turned into grass dirt and cotton seeds. It was a mess. The roller and the pan was the same way. So we changed walls thinking that it would be better and it was for a while but soon the wind and sprinkles started again and we just gave up. It was coffee time anyway. We put every thing away in the barn and went to the dining room. We saw the boss (Dwight) and told him what had happened and that we thought we would just spend the rest of our shift in the air conditioned dining room. He just laughed like we didn't mean it, well I guess we both knew we wouldn't get away with it but he did say we could stop painting, So we cleaned up and organized the barn and I went looking for some paint to match a closet door that needed paint. We will do that tomorrow
if it actually rains as predicted, or if the wind is blowing like to day. I don't know how much of the barn is going to get painted at this rate. Well I'm sure I have board you to death but if you are reading this part thanks for the vote of confidence that I would actually come up with some thing interesting. Sorry to disappoint. Have a good night!

Zoey did it again!

After I finished my post on Friday I turned off the computer and the light. I went to the bathroom to get ready for bed, when I came out there was on in the living room so I walked in there and there was Zoey laying on the Couch cleaning herself. I scolded her and turned off the light and went to bed. Dwight and I were at the lake on Sunday when we got home the light was on again. I don't know if she is afraid of the dark or if she just because likes to scratch her nose on the light.

We have been painting the dining room at the school. We are covering a blue color that has been there for many years. It's a very large room but in two days we managed to get 3/4 of it done and wow does it look good! There is going to be a meeting there tomorrow, discuss who will be taking over the Superintendents job. Our current super decided to retire, so he can take care of his wife, who has been diagnosis with Alsheimer's she is so young I think around 56. His last day will be June 30th. and he is going to be missed. Today she was at the school with him visiting during coffee time. She seemed fine to me she was attentive and visited with people. Later Dwight told me that the whole time we were there she was humming, I didn't hear that though. Any way I can understand why he is doing what he is. We have recently dealt with a similar situation with Dwight's Dad, It is a painful time for the family.

It's late and I think I'm rambling so I better get to bed.

Wow... It's June 10th!

Wow I didn't ever realize that I haven't posted since June 1. It doesn't feel like it's been that long. I guess I have been busy painting at the School again this summer. This year I'm painting with Lisa Olson, she is the art teacher and part time interpreter, and Robert, he is a deaf man that worked as a councilor in the dorm. Next month he and his wife Holly (who is also the superintendents daughter) will be moving to Colorado, to his home town. He is very excited about that. Any way the time goes by so fast. After work I don't feel like doing much, but I have been reading other people's blogs especially my daughters, and writing comments. They have more intersting things to write about than I do. Painting has been going well. The first couple of days we spent preparing the barn for paint. It was nice being outside while the weather was nice even though I hate scraping, I also got to fill in mortar in between the bricks where it had fallen out. I didn't get to do much before it was time to leave and then the next day it started to rain. It's a tedious job, and when the rain started we had to go inside. Which was ok cuz that was about as much fun as scraping paint... Well a little more fun cuz it's different. We painted a ceiling in one of the classrooms. That sucks cuz I almost always get paint sprinkles on my face and glasses. The next place was one of the dorms we painted two bathrooms, of course we had to paint more ceilings. The rooms turned out pretty good. We did a little sponge painting and made it a two tone color, I liked it when it was finished. We got done with that yesterday. In the shower area's we use oil paint and I don't like to clean up that stuff but it was easy to work with.

Another thing that I have been busy with is I received my Michael Thurman 6 week body make over. I have had to watch some DVD's and listen to some CD's and put together a book the is my personal body make over. And the hardest thing has been that I have to eat 6 times a day.
I can't have dairy products. (I'm a milk drinker) Cut back on sugar and fat. Each meal has 2-3 oz. Of lean meat or 2-3 egg whites, a carb, (like a potato, rice, oatmeal, barley or a few other things I have never tried or ever wanted to) and last but not least Veggies or fruit. The fruit I love, I have tried some things that I don't usually eat but I love fruit. I think it's more limited than the veggies because there is more natural sugar. But for the most part it's been not too bad. The also tell you how you can customize it to your tastes. That is something I need to work on more. Then there is the exercise program. It looks so easy only 18 minutes 2 times a week. Guess what... I haven't started it yet. I'm thinking I will start it tomorrow if I can get them all figured out.

For my birthday Dwight bought me a touch lamp. Zoey likes to scratch her nose on it. When her nose tip touches it the lamp turns on. If it hits her fur nothing happens. One morning when Dwight woke up the light was on and she was sleeping on the couch close by the lamp. He said he turned it off and went to get the news paper and came back and the light was on again. Zoey was standing next to it, it was kind of funny. He wondered if she did it on purpose or not. Well she still likes to scratch her face with it but we haven't found it on again.

Well I can barely keep my eyes open until the next time.

Pictures of Job Corp

Alicia finally let me take a couple of pictures when she got back to JC yesterday. As you can see it's a no frills kind of place. But wow if only her bedroom at home could look like this. Well that's OK Alicia, it was nice to have you home the last few days. Too bad we didn't get you out to the lake, hopefully when you come home for summer break the boat will be out there and there will be something to do. This weekend is Devils Run here at Devils Lake. It's fun to see all those old cars. Poor Dwight he has had so many of the same kind of cars so it's a real ride down memory lane.

Today I started working at the Deaf school painting. Three of us painted a ceiling. The painting itself doesn't take that long, it's walking all over campus looking for the painting stuff like brushes, ladders, rollers, drop cloths and chasing down Dwight when we have a question. I did a lot more running than painting. Tomorrow will be better, because we took every thing we need over to the dorm today, so hopefully as soon as I get the paint mixed up we will be able to start painting. I'm feeling the ache already creeping into my body. I rolled the ceiling so it was a whole lot of looking up. Tomorrow we will be using oil paint so clean up will be harder, but we are going to paint a bathroom and it just holds up better in those areas. I think we are going to do some sponge painting so it should be interesting. Well that's all I have to say tonight. Good night.
